Built an electronics workbench and designed it for 48" wide overhead cabinet space - two 24" wide cabinets side by side. (See photo) No problem, right? Wrong! I looked and looked and gave up a bunch of times. Went to brick-n-mortar stores... considered doing one 32 inch cabinet and a side shelf. Some were too tall and too expensive. Finally, one day, found this! Two bolted together is EXACTLY 48" wide. They are easy to assemble, but you want to have a good flat work surface and don't tighten any fasteners until they are all in... square it up and snug the screws the rest of the way. You should have no problem. You might want to use a tapered nail set or "drift" to get screw holes aligned more easily. Took me 45 minutes to build the first and about 20 minutes to build #2.Comes with plastic insert type drywall anchors but would recommend you either lag screw to studs in the wall (drill your holes in the back) or use large toggle anchors for drywall and maybe use a few extra anchors - more secure is better. Wanted locking doors just to keep young, curious grandkids out of my electronic meters and tools when I'm not home - not necessarily for valuables and like most sheet metal locking cabinets, could be popped open easily with a flat pry bar. The locks and have a green (unlocked)/red (locked) indicator which is kind of cool. The two I received are keyed differently. You can build with door hinged on either side - I wanted one hinged right and one left to close together in the center, as shown. I think they look professional and friends commented how nice they look. I bolted my old under counter radio/CD player under one. Came with a couple extra screws... but you never lose screws when they provide extras, right? Right. Some commented the gap between the door and the cabinet was too great and they should slot the brackets to make this adjustable and allow pulling the doors in tighter - they must have listened because these were slotted and while there is still a bit of a gap, mine is about 1/8" or that of a typical metal cabinet. Packaging was A++; very nicely boxed to prevent damage in shipping.
